Over the most recent holiday weekend, we had a few friends visiting from out of town. Their first visit to the Cities, they had no idea how much support and community there is around cycling.
Of course we knew, but we never have truly appreciated the city for all it does to remain one of the best bicycling cities in the world. We took it for granted and it was a couple out-of-towners to help remind us how lucky we are.
When it comes to fostering that fantastic community, The Hub Bike Co-op has been a big contributor. From their four locations, the Co-op enriches the community through policies and initiatives that positively affects the urban landscape, making it more accessible and enjoyable for cyclists.
A green business that recycles any item possible, The Hub also volunteers their time, money and merchandise to good causes throughout the city. In fact, 5% of all of their profits go building and supporting the cycling community.
They also have a vast inventory of bikes, offer repairs and conduct classes that will help you repair spokes and fix flats.
It’s a wholesome approach and a sustainable one.
