You know those people who take a Snapchat of something with the words “This gives me life?” We’re seeing it a lot lately. “These trees give me life.” “This Starbucks gives me life.” Life. Life. Life.
Sounds a lot like blah blah blah to us.
We’re here to advise you on what really does give you life.
And what is it?
Breakfast from Keys Cafe. We like the original spot, the one on Raymond Ave. in St. Paul.
Take A Look Into’s guide on how to eat here correctly to heart. First, walk in and seat yourself. Many newbies hang around at the door. You see a table you want? Sit at it. Upon making your selection the first and only choice is a cup of piping hot coffee.
As soon as you order that, your friendly server will probably ask if you want some toast with their signature jelly. The answer is yes.
When your coffee gets to the table it’s time to order the main dish. Anything with eggs will do but we always go for the meatiest omelet we can find or the Ranch Breakfast. Two options, steak or pork chop. We go with the steak and scrambled eggs.
It’s a heavenly and old style combo that has kept Keys in business over 40 years and allowed them to expand to multiple locations.
Finally, once you’re properly full, have some more coffee and finish it off with a friendly thanks to your server. Tip well. Come back. Eat steak and eggs.
You’re going to like it here. Life giving. No doubt.
