Layers and layers of frosting.
A cascade, an illustrious flow of sugary goodness atop a warm cinnamon bun. It’s what Isles Bun & Coffee in Uptown has and it’s what we like.
It started in ‘93, changed hands in 2000 and is putting out scratch made goodies that will make you feel all warm and fuzzy inside simply from the smell.
We honor the classic. The Cinnamon Bun topped with that cascade of cream cheese frosting. It’s famous and there’s nothing else like it. Just taking a single bite reminds us of those winter nights we paired it with chili or waking up Sunday mornings as kids and having some because it was the only day our parents said cinnamon rolls counted as a “healthy” breakfast.
But there are other fantastic options as well. You can and should go for the Caramel Pecan Buns, which are so gooey, you’ll need to lick your fingers twice over and have a napkin nearby, and a wet wipe and maybe soap and water. Making it very worth the effort.
Isles also has fantastic coffee, brewed up by baristas who are not only well-trained but will know your name after a few visits.
Scratch made with tender loving care. It’s their secret ingredient.
Whoops! We weren’t supposed to tell. But I suppose that means you’ll be heading over there now.
