Meat eaters gather. There is a place where you can sink your teeth into the lovely delights that walk this earth in four hooves. Beef. Glorious beef, in its finest fashion, is found at Burch Steak on Colfax in Mpls.
James Beard award winning chef Isaac Becker added Burch Steak to his roster, that includes 112 Eatery and Bar La Grassa, in 2013.
Obviously with a James Beard award winner running things, the entrees are going to be good and the steak is worth trying. You can get anything from a porterhouse to a Wagyu cheeseburger and whatever you order, make sure it is medium rare.
If you want to avoid the traditional entrees, there is plentiful amount of raw choices or you could dive into the wonderful pizza bar on offer.
We find the pizza to be a bit more social of an affair. We’ll bring a friend or two, dress a little nicer and grab the Fugazza and classic Margherita, pairing it with a bottle of red. We stick to the rule of ordering the second cheapest bottle, that would be the Terra Nera Etna Rosso Nero Mascalese, IT 2013 or the Zuccardi Malbec, (O), AR 2013.
Steak is king, pizza is queen, and wine is the joker. We like this group of characters.
