A lot of our inspiration for posts, people to meet and things to do happen while enjoying a pint at a brewery. While people we know use yoga, a motorcycle ride, or a leisure walk to clear their heads, we grab a random table in a taproom during the quieter hours. To pause and reflect.
To keep moving while sitting still.
Every now and then though, we get a bit sidetracked by the beer we’re drinking because it’s just so damn good.
That beer has been the Rubbish Oat Amber Ale from LynLake Brewery on more than one occasion. It’s an untraditional Scottish Ale with roast and caramel notes that is easy drinking and rich without killing your palette.
LynLake started after 20+ year friends and co-founders Mark & Paul decided that they should start a brewery, over a discussion with Surly’s in hand. As the story goes they stubbornly persisted to get it accomplished and brought on head brewer Joel to get the job done.
Now LynLake has inspired those around it in a very short amount of time. They have a great entry, with a beautiful marquee lit up by the name, and excellent taproom and rooftop to enjoy their flagships, rotating cask beers or seasonals.
We’ve had many a good thought over a Rubbish, and we plan on having a few more.
