If you’ve lived in the Twin Cities long enough you’ve more than likely heard of Brit’s Pub. Truly a place with an endearing and expansive spirit, Brit’s has been around since 1990.
It started out as a two room tavern but today has a main floor, clubhouse, long hall, outdoor patio and a lawn bowling green reaching 10,000 square feet. Deep colored wooden panels on the wall, leather couches surrounding a fireplace and cold pints. Brit’s has what we love just in amenities alone.
There is plenty of appeal in just sitting out on a patio drinking a nice brew any day of the week but we like to show up to the pub on an early Saturday mornings to watch our favorite European football clubs. You might call it soccer but at Brit’s it’s football and it’s the greatest game there is.
Rugby fans may argue but Brit’s caters to them as well. Even though their regular hours are 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 a.m. daily, these matches often take place early in the morning and Brit’s announces their schedule ahead of time to let you know when the doors will be open.
If you’re a fan of outdoor games, Brit’s could easily be adopted as the mecca in your eyes. Bocce, or lawn bowling as it’s known here, is available on their well manicured green from May to September. It fills up fast and it’s recommended you get a reservation.
Finally, as fans of the people behind our favorite places, as you know we are, the story behind this place is great. You can find the quick read here.
Enthusiasts of beer, food, football and rugby will feel right at home here. Luckily we’re all four. Tweet at us to meet up sometime.
