You know when you’re just walking around and stumble across a place that you’ve never noticed before. Maybe you were walking past it on a day it was closed. Maybe you were on the other side of the street. Maybe it was raining and all you could think about was this iPhone isn’t waterproof.
We’d walked past Olive You on Selby a half dozen times before we noticed it. What caught our eye was the place was packed. People going in and rarely leaving quickly. Upon getting closer, the window was completely full of people and when we ourselves went inside, we knew why it was so popular.
Shame on us for not seeing it before.
Olive You is located in the beautiful Cathedral Hill District and is offering up over 50 varieties of the finest olive oils and balsamic vinegars you’ll find this far north.
Started by two sisters, Heidi and Heather, who aren’t afraid to let you know they are a little nuts, Olive You began as a place where these sisters could hang with their extended culinary family. As it turns out, their multiple talents developed it into a place where foodies, home cooks, and people who want a little elevation in their meals are relaxed. A place where hanging with strangers is rather enjoyable.
The sisters encourage you to stop in to taste or simply visit and may twist your arm for a selfie but that’s alright because once you walk in the door, you’ll probably want to stay awhile anyway.
